Our Pettigrew PTO needs you! Our school PTO sponsors some AMAZING student and family events throughout the year but they absolutely can not do it without parental volunteering and support.
Join the PTO this year!
Please consider helping out at PTO events, even if it is only for part of the time. Pettigrew is very grateful for our parents that take the time to ensure our students have fond memories of the PTO sponsored events that take place at school. We are a large school and need a lot of hands to keep events fun and SAFE.

HELLO Pettigrew Panthers, summer is winding down! We are back in our office from a refreshing summer break and starting to make preparations for our 2024-2025 school year!
Here are a few reminders to start the year.
**Please make sure you have registered your student for this coming school year inside your Parent Portal. We have several students that are not updated as of this morning! Look in the MORE tab and ANNUAL STUDENT UPDATE to complete this process. **Information about Open House , Picture Day, and other important new school year details, will be sent via email from Mr. D in the near future.
**Our 2024-25 school supply list sent by Mr. D via email last spring is pinned to the top of this page! Do NOT use the generic department store lists! Our teachers have worked to create the best list for Pettigrew students and that list is the list Mr D has provided.

Just a reminder that our Pettigrew Office is now closed for the summer. Office staff will return on August 1st.
Mark your calendars for our 2024 Open House. Our K-5 Open House will be late afternoon and evening on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. A schedule and more information will be circulated from the school in August. One important change we want to have on your calendar is that SCHOOL PICTURES will be taken at this open house at Pettigrew that evening. Please make arrangements to attend, because make-up pictures will be scheduled later in the school year.

Pettigrew families ~ We have a very limited number of yearbooks available for sale in the front office on a first come first serve basis. Yearbooks are $16 CASH or CHECK made to "RF Pettigrew PTO."
For the second year in a row, the Sioux Falls School District is proud to be called one of the Best Communities for Music Education by the National Association for Music Merchants Foundation. This recognition is a testament to the dedication of our teachers, the commitment of our students, and to the close ties that have grown together over the years in our music education community. As we celebrate this recognition, let us also celebrate the power of music to inspire, educate, and unite us all.
Wednesday, May 8th, is National School Nurse Day!
A big THANK YOU to our School Nurse, Dawn Valer! She is always on the go and ready to help all students and staff in need of medical assistance!
Wow! SFSD is so grateful to the Sioux Falls STORM, LEVO, and media partners KELOLand TV for supporting Operation Hope & Caring where $18,417 was raised to support elementary schools that don't have PTAs/PTOs. We had a great time at the game and especially enjoyed the WIN! ❤️
Tonight is THE night! Come out to support SFSD elementary schools without PTAs/PTOs as the Sioux Falls STORM take on the Green Bay Blizzard. It's also Star Wars night, so wear your gear and bring your lightsaber to this fun family event sponsored by LEVO Credit Union!
On Monday, May 6th Pettigrew will have an ALL SCHOOL Pajama Day and Team Luke/Tough Like Tommy shirt day!
Wear your jammies or one of the leukemia support shirts on Monday to show our students our support!
Happy Principal Appreciation Day to our Pettigrew Principal Kevin Dick and our Assistant Principal Jennifer Walden!
