Don't miss your chance to attend this years Family Pizza Bingo Night! Pre-order forms are due this coming FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 13TH.

The "100% Accountable" Mindset reminds us that we are responsible for our own happiness and success. Being 100% accountable means choosing growth over excuses, learning from the past without being held back by it, and understanding that our future is shaped by the choices we make each day.
These students were nominated by their teachers for truly living out this mindset, and we couldn’t be more proud of their hard work, determination, and confidence. Way to go Panthers!
**Next Month’s Mindset: "Attitude of Gratitude"
Take a moment to talk with your child about what gratitude means to them and how they can practice being thankful and gracious toward others, at school and beyond.

Classroom 502 celebrated National Puzzle Day by competing in groups to see who could finish their cereal puzzle first.

Classroom 105 has been learning about light and dark in Science this week. Students explored how light creates shadows by using flashlights! It was a hands-on way to investigate how shadows change when light moves, and the students had so much fun experimenting and discovering together.

First grade has been diving into Ancient Rome in social studies! 🏛️
Classroom 103 learned how aqueducts worked and then they built their own using paper and a ping-pong ball.
It was so fun watching students experiment with slopes and see how gravity will help move water, just like the Romans did. Hands-on learning + history = a great day!
Here is a short clip of students putting their creation to the test.

We are so proud to celebrate our students with PERFECT ATTENDANCE for the second quarter! 🎉
These awesome Panthers didn’t miss a single minute of school during quarter two!! No absences, no appointments, no early check-outs, and no late arrivals! ⏰👏
While we know it’s not always possible for everyone to achieve perfect attendance all year, we love taking time to recognize those who met this amazing goal for an entire quarter. Way to go, Pettigrew Panthers! 💙🐾

Our second graders in classroom 204 became scientists today!
They designed and tested their first glue recipe, learning all about materials, testing, and improving their ideas. Sticky science at its best!

Students at Pettigrew have been working incredibly hard to become strong, confident readers through the Lexia Core Reading program!
As students meet and pass their reading levels, they get a special trip to the office to have their picture taken with the principals—and then their photo is proudly displayed on our Lexia Wall of Legends!
Our students are building powerful reading skills, and we love celebrating their dedication and success.
Just look at all of the LEGENDS on our wall—we couldn’t be prouder!

As we get back into daily routines following a long winter break, it’s nice to break up our days with special visitors and school assemblies at Pettigrew.
RHS visited for a PBIS assembly. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue spoke with students about fire safety. The Great Plains Zoo brought a few special guests for kindergartners to get up close and personal with. Our school Resource Officer stopped to checkout lunch and visited a few students!
There is always something happening at Pettigrew to keep our students engaged and learning.

Friday, January 23, 2026, will be a Remote Learning Day in the Sioux Falls School District!
iPads and Chromebooks were sent home with each student earlier today. We will not have in-person learning in the schools, but students are expected to connect to their Canvas account from home for assignments and learning resources. They have practiced this at school and know what is expected of them.
Additional information for Students and Families can be found here: https://app.smore.com/n/wgz62
