This week, we’re excited to introduce our incredible Art and PE teachers. They go above and beyond every day—sparking creativity, inspiring movement, and bringing energy and imagination to our students’ learning.
We’re grateful for all they do to help our students shine! 🎨🏃♂️✨

Pettigrew 3rd grader Lorelei has found a special way to show her appreciation for Veterans. Each year, she raises funds on her own to help area Veterans be recognized and honored for their service. ❤️👏
We’re so proud of our Pettigrew Panther, Lorelei for her compassion, initiative, and patriotic spirit!
Lorelei sets an amazing example of our 7 Mindsets, embracing many of them in just one service project including, Attitude of Gratitude, Live to Give, The Time is Now, Everything is Possible and Passion First!

🌟 Perfect Attendance Superstars! 🌟
We are so proud to celebrate our students with PERFECT ATTENDANCE for the first quarter! 🎉
These awesome Panthers didn’t miss a single minute of school — no absences, no appointments, no early check-outs, and no late arrivals! ⏰👏
While we know it’s not always possible for everyone to achieve perfect attendance all year, we love taking time to recognize those who met this amazing goal for an entire quarter. Way to go, Pettigrew Panthers! 💙🐾

This incredible group helps our first graders soar to the next level of learning here at Pettigrew! They bring excitement, creativity, and so much heart to everything they do. 💙 We’re so lucky to have such a passionate team guiding our youngest learners! 📚✨

An “Everything is Possible” mindset means believing you can achieve extraordinary things through creativity, positive thinking, and taking action. These students were nominated by their teachers as a 7 Mindsets Student of the Month for displaying the qualities of this month’s mindset lesson. We’re so proud of their hard work, determination, and belief in themselves! Congratulations to our October Students of the Month.
Next months Mindset is "Passion First" . Talk with your students about what this mindset means to them and help them work towards this mindset goal.

Daylight Savings time is THIS SUNDAY, November 2nd! Fall back one hour and enjoy an extra hour of sleep!

We’re looking for clothing donations to help students who may need a change of clothes during the school day.
🩳 Most needed items:
Size 6/7 pants in neutral colors or simple designs (so they can be used by either girls or boys).
Stretchy or sweatpants are especially helpful!
🧤 Winter needs:
Warm gloves and mittens — thicker styles are best for keeping little hands cozy during cold days.
All donations can be dropped off at the school office. Thank you for helping us keep our students comfortable and warm this season!

If you elect to have a retake, please return the entire packet back to school for the retake day. All students with a packet returned to school will go to have a retake done.
Any students that have NOT had a picture taken yet this year will also have pictures taken on this day.

Our students spent a fun day in our park watching their teachers race through an obstacle course designed just for planets! This exciting event was our school wide reward for reaching our fundraising goal during the Fun Run. Thanks to our students’ hard work and enthusiasm, we had an out-of-this-world day cheering on our teachers as they raced to cross the atmospheric finish line! Here is a link to the video and be watching for a special story from our district media department about our Space Race!

Pettigrew students participated in the Native American Day parade in downtown Sioux Falls on Monday, October 13th, proudly showcasing symbols of their culture as they made their way along the parade route. It was a fantastic day for a parade and our students definitely enjoyed the day with school friends and family!
