Daylight Savings time is THIS SUNDAY, November 2nd! Fall back one hour and enjoy an extra hour of sleep!

We’re looking for clothing donations to help students who may need a change of clothes during the school day.
🩳 Most needed items:
Size 6/7 pants in neutral colors or simple designs (so they can be used by either girls or boys).
Stretchy or sweatpants are especially helpful!
🧤 Winter needs:
Warm gloves and mittens — thicker styles are best for keeping little hands cozy during cold days.
All donations can be dropped off at the school office. Thank you for helping us keep our students comfortable and warm this season!

If you elect to have a retake, please return the entire packet back to school for the retake day. All students with a packet returned to school will go to have a retake done.
Any students that have NOT had a picture taken yet this year will also have pictures taken on this day.

Our students spent a fun day in our park watching their teachers race through an obstacle course designed just for planets! This exciting event was our school wide reward for reaching our fundraising goal during the Fun Run. Thanks to our students’ hard work and enthusiasm, we had an out-of-this-world day cheering on our teachers as they raced to cross the atmospheric finish line! Here is a link to the video and be watching for a special story from our district media department about our Space Race!

Pettigrew students participated in the Native American Day parade in downtown Sioux Falls on Monday, October 13th, proudly showcasing symbols of their culture as they made their way along the parade route. It was a fantastic day for a parade and our students definitely enjoyed the day with school friends and family!

Monday is Native American Day and Tuesday is Inservice Day/Conferences.

Mr. Wagner got to work on rewarding students for LEVELING UP on their reading skills in Lexia today! When students complete a level in Lexia, they get a certificate of completion. Once that happens, they come to the school office and have their picture taken by Mr. Wagner, Pettigrew Principal, or Mrs. Walden, Pettigrew Assistant Principal. After their picture is taken, they hang it up on the Lexia Legends Wall for the entire school to see! We want to fill that wall with reading accomplishments all year long! We can't wait for our parents to see the wall at conference time! Your donations from the Fun Run have allowed us to purchase cameras and film so we can celebrate our students!

GROWL stands for Great Relationships of Warmth and Leadership. Starting today, you can nominate any Pettigrew staff member who demonstrates these qualities. Each nominee will receive a special pin, and your kind words will help us celebrate the incredible work of our staff.
All details, including the nomination form, can be found in our GROWL Award newsletter: https://secure.smore.com/n/v79rf
The form will remain open all year, so you can submit a nomination anytime you experience something positive. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating and lifting up our amazing staff throughout the year!
