Students in Early Childhood Classroom 5 have been having a smashing good time creating melted crayon art! Inspired by our Dialogic Reading book, Elmer, students explored colors and creativity while bringing their own colorful artwork to life. Just like Elmer, the patchwork elephant, our little artists showed us that being colorful and unique is something to celebrate in our Pettigrew Early Childhood program!

We also had students and staff dress up like our principals, making the day extra fun and giving us a more than a few mini-principals roaming the halls!

A big THANK YOU to our principals for all they do to lead, support, encourage, and care for our Pettigrew Panthers every single day! We appreciate you more than you know!mmCheck out Pettigrew's Facebook story for a glimpse of all the amazing artwork!!

Pettigrew 4th graders had a special opportunity to learn from members of the VFW how to properly fold the United States flag. Students learned about the meaning behind this time-honored tradition and the importance of showing respect for our nation’s flag. Learning proper flag etiquette is an important lesson at Pettigrew.

A big THANK YOU to our VFW members for sharing their knowledge, honoring our traditions, and helping our students understand the meaning behind this important symbol of our country!

Thursday, October 1st, will be the School Picture MAKE-UP Day and Early Childhood/Headstart Picture Day.
This picture day opportunity will be specifically for students that were not able to make it to Open House before school started this year, new students that have recently enrolled, and our Early Childhood/Headstart students.
When all of our students have had a chance to have pictures taken, incoming picture packets will be distributed as they arrive.
Please note, this is NOT our picture retake day. Our picture RETAKE opportunity will be on November 5th for all of our students, once all families have had a chance to review their picture packets.
