Excuse us while we brag for a minute… Our Superintendent is pretty talented! Dr. Jane Stavem is an accomplished pianist, vocalist, trumpet player, French horn player, percussionist, xylophone player… oh, and she also plays harmonica! 😉 These talents, along with her deep love for all things Fine Arts, earned her the honor of Parade Marshal for Festival of Bands 2022! We are proud to be lead by someone who values the role extracurriculars play in “preparing each student to succeed in a changing world!”

Updated breakfast and lunch pricing, how to re-apply for free and reduced meals, who gets low fund balance notifications, and an easy and delicious snack mix recipe to try at home. It's all in the October edition of the "What's the Scoop" newsletter from our Child Nutrition Services!

Pettigrew Volunteers!
Parents that plan to be in our building volunteering or attending any potential field trips either as chaperones or drivers must complete both the volunteer form for our building AND complete the online background check.
The online background check is completed each school year and will take 2-3 weeks to clear for approval. Please be prepared and complete these steps far in advance of planned field trips with your Pettigrew student.
Included on this post are the links for the paper form that must be printed and turned into the building and also the link to the online background check.

Pettigrew students enjoyed a few RHS Homecoming activities over Homecoming Week 2022-23.
The RHS Royalty Court visited the building, read with students, and mingled with them during recess. RHS Homecoming Queen and former Pettigrew student Ava Steffen listened as students read to her.
We had several fun dress up days that took us on a world tour adventure.
We wrapped up the week with a marching band visit from Memorial Middle School.
These fun events help keep our students looking forward to their educational future and all Sioux Falls Public Schools have to offer. Thank you parents for helping to keep your students involved and excited about school!
